Alta Whisnant is the Privacy Officer for Envision Healthcare Corporation and is certified in Healthcare Compliance. She is a seasoned healthcare compliance/privacy professional whose experience spans more than 16 years in the compliance/privacy arena and has over 35 years of healthcare experience. Alta joined AMSURG in 2007 as Director of Compliance & Privacy and in 2015 she was named Vice President Compliance/Privacy Official. In 2017 Alta became the Corporate Privacy Officer for Envision Healthcare Corporation. Prior to joining AMSURG, Alta served in positions of Health Information Management/Privacy Officer for several healthcare systems. Alta earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Records Administration from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C. She holds credentials for Registered Health Information Administrator and has a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from University of St. Frances in Joliet, IL. Alta also holds the credentials of CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance).
