This is an introductory course designed for new and inexperienced billers with less than one year of experience. Participants will learn the fundamentals of billing and coding, as well as the appeal process, cash handling and Accounts Relievable management.

Sabrina Alexander has been with the AMSURG Revenue Management team since 2013. She has over 28 years of experience in the healthcare sector. Prior to her work with AMSURG, Sabrina was an Administrator for an endoscopy center and gastroenterology practice. Some highlights of her experience include oversight of billing processes, policy and procedures, practice management systems, and staff training and support. She and her husband live in Nashville, TN with their two schnauzers. She is the mother of three and grandmother of seven. She and her husband are avid Tennessee Titans, Volunteers and Nashville Predators fans.  They also enjoy family gatherings, travel and beach therapy.

Lottie Canizares is an AVP Business Operations at AMSURG. Lottie obtained a Bachelor of Health Services majoring in Health Administration at Florida Atlantic University. Lottie has managed all areas of revenue cycle management for over 20 years. She was the Director of Business Operations for a high volume multispecialty surgery center in Florida for 9 years. Lottie then spent 7 years managing a regional billing office to later become AVP Business Operations in 2017.
